PIXLIP EXPO U/O CONNECTORS - Assembly

Overview

Large, modular exhibition stands can be assembled neatly and securely when the connection details are right. With the PIXLIP EXPO U and O connectors, you can securely connect multiple lightbox frames to create a T or a cross. The assembly is well designed and efficient — here I explain the necessary steps, tools, and important tips for a clean installation.

Contents and preparation

Before you begin, lay out all the components and check that nothing is missing. Typically, you will need:

• Lightbox frames (at least three for a T, four for a cross)
• U connector (for connecting three frames)
• O connection extension (turns the U into an O to add a fourth side)
• Hollow bolts and nuts
• Allen key (for the four screws of the extension)
• Pixlip wrench (for tightening the nuts)

Step-by-step assembly

1. Preparation
   Hand-tighten one hollow bolt into each of the designated threads in the U connectors and position the connector in the first lightbox. Secure the bolt at the bottom with a nut, then do the same at the top.
   
   
   

    

2. Installing the U connection (building a T)
   
   1. Align the system bore of the lightbox with that of the U connector. When the bores line up, slide the hollow bolt through the lightbox into the U and tighten it.
   
   2. Secure the bolt with the nut at the bottom and repeat the same at the top.
   
   3. Slide the next frame into place and repeat the process for the second connection.
   
   4. Once the three frames are connected, take the Pixlip wrench and tighten the six nuts. This creates two perfect right angles between the three lightboxes — your T is complete.
   
   Note: The assembly also works if you mount the lightbox directly in its final position. This is practical when the stand has already been marked out or space is tight.
   
   

    

3. Extending the O connector and cross
   
   To turn the U into an O and connect a fourth lightbox, you need the connection extension.
   
   1. Place the extension onto the U and tighten the four screws with the Allen key.
   
   2. Repeat the same step at the top.
   
   3. Partially screw the hollow bolts into the connector before closing it, because now is the ideal time to route your wiring through the system bore.
   
   4. Slide the fourth lightbox into place to close the cavity.
   
   5. Finally, tighten the nuts with the Pixlip wrench.
   
   
   

    

4. Finishing and wiring
   Once all the nuts are tightened, you have a stable cross. The wiring and final connection work should be completed before the cavity is completely closed. If you plan the cable routing carefully, everything stays neat and accessible.
